Exhibition Lynn Meyer
Exhibition Lynn Meyer
Born in 1992 in Esch-sur-Alzette (LU), Lynn Meyer lives and works in Brussels.
.
Having graduated in 2018 from the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, the artist is continuing her research and the development of her visual art.
The exhibition at the CollART Gallery is her first solo exhibition and allows us to trace the evolution of her work over the last few years.
Navigating between various media such as painting, drawing, lithography and photography, Lynn Meyer blurs the boundaries between techniques, encouraging the viewer to look more closely in order to decipher the multiple layers of fragments that interact in the whole they construct.
The work creates a closeness with the observer, inviting them to get closer, in an almost tactile way, to what they perceive. By soliciting this sustained attention, the artist forces the spectator to stop, so as not to look without seeing. It is in this proximity that the nuances and subtleties that thwart the gaze are revealed.
.
By devoting meticulous attention to detail and to the material that becomes the tangible vehicle of our memories, the artist also explores the ephemeral and traces, seeking to freeze snatches of fleeting moments in time. Her works bear witness to the past and evoke what has been and what remains of it, what is no longer but remains indelible, the palpable presence of absence that haunts and permeates our existence.
