Schuttrange

Do not be misled! At first glance, this municipality gives the impression of being of a collection of cosy residential areas in a pleasant location, much as they exist everywhere else. However, Schuttrange will surely surprise you with natural and cultural treasures that you will not find anywhere else!

An unforgettable experience for nature lovers is the well signposted discovery trail through the largest reed bed of Luxembourg. The nature reserve Schlammwiss, near the village of Uebersyren is a wetland with great variety of fauna and flora.

Built in 1775, the castle of Munsbach is surrounded by a magnificent park in which garden lovers can discover a rose garden with hundreds of old and new Luxembourg rose species.

The Native Village in Neuhäusgen is dedicated to indigenous peoples. Between detailed information boards, you will see a majestic house from the Celtic period, which the Luxembourg scouts and guides reconstructed in a historically correct fashion. Every two years on Whitsunday, the Celtic festival Bealtaine takes place here with workshops, show fights and a real Celtic camp.

Another festival, the Schëtter Nëssmaart (nut market) takes place annually in October and attracts visitors from the region with an entertainment programme for young and old.

Would you like to stay for a while? The Légère Hotel in Munsbach has chic design rooms and a wellness area for you. Right next to the hotel is an insect hotel, a project realised in collaboration with the municipal administration.

Due to its favourable location not far from the city of Luxembourg, you can reach the municipality of Schuttrange via the A1 Luxembourg-Trier motorway as well as comfortably by train (Munsbach railway station) or bus.
